Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAT)
Healing through connection with horses
Equine-Assisted Therapy at Meeting Minds NZ follows the internationally recognised EAGALA model, where horses, a trained facilitators (Mental Health professional and Equine Specialist), and a safe outdoor environment come together to support emotional wellbeing. There is no riding involved — instead, participants interact with horses on the ground, engaging in activities that reflect real-life challenges and patterns.
These sessions are ideal for individuals navigating stress, trauma, or personal challenges. With the guidance of trained facilitators, you’ll discover new ways to build confidence, process emotions, and move toward wellbeing.
Horses respond authentically to our energy, body language, and emotions. Their feedback is immediate and non-judgmental, helping you see yourself more clearly and explore new ways of coping, communicating, and connecting. Sessions are trauma-informed and designed to be both safe and empowering.
